On Friday July 8th, the Special Workshop on Agrofood – Boosting the Organic and Printed Electronics Industry in Greece, took place during the NANOTEXNOLOGY 2016 events. You can find the program of the event here. The workshop’s scope was to highlight the potential of Nanotechnology in Food Industry as well as in the wider rural Economy. The workshop took place in presence of Mr. Markos Mpolaris, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Development of Greece.

The main activities of GR-Nanomed Platform were presented On Thursday July 7th, during NANOTEXNOLOGY 2016, by Dr. Varvara Karagkiozaki person responsible of the platform. Moreover, a cooperation agreement with the corresponding Austrian platform took place. To date, more than 120 Nanomedicine Companies, Institutions and Hospitals are members of GR-Nanomed Platform.

On Tuesday July 5th 2016, during the NANOTEXNOLOGY 2016 multi-event which took place at Porto Palace Conference Centre and Hotel, Thessaloniki, HOPE-A and JAPEC (Organic and Printed Electronics Associations of Greece & Japan) signed their MOU in the presence of Ms. Theodora Tzakri, Deputy Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism of Greece.

NANOTEXNOLOGY 2016 concluded on July 9 2016, after an exciting week full of important technological, business and networking parallel events. LTFN Nanotechnology Lab, together with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Nano|Net Research and Innovation Network and HOPE-A, co-organized this year’s successful events.

NANOTEXNOLOGY 2016 commenced on Saturday July 2nd with ISSON16 Summer Schools which included interesting lectures on Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics, Nanomedicine and Graphene! ISSON16 gathered more than 120 students from 25 different countries and 30 internationally acknowledged experts!

Then ISFOE16 Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics started on Monday July 4th with more than 240 presentations from 35 different countries, to be followed by NN16 conference on Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies which started on Tuesday July 5th gathering 480 presentations from 52 different countries. During the day three exciting plenary talks were delivered by three world-class scientists, where all the attendants had the opportunity to be informed about all the cutting-edge updates on the fields of Nanotechnologies, Nanomedicine and Organic Electronics!

During the Conferences and Summer Schools, EXPO16 exhibition on Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics and Nanomedicine which gathered more than 43 exhibitors from different countries, together with Matchmaking Event with more than 150 bilateral meetings and Business Forum with 10 presentations of Start-Up companies, where only some of the highlights of this year’s NANOTEXNOLOGY.

The 8th Workshop "Boosting the Organic & Printed Electronics Industry in Greece" took place at Thessaloniki, Greece at May 30th 2016 with the participation of several representatives from Academia, Industry and representatives from regional and national goverment. The Workshop started with the inauguration of the newly founded Center of Organic and Printed Electronics - Hellas (COPE-H), which is an initiative of Nanotechnology Lab LTFN of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

The 8th Workshop - "Boosting the Organic and Printed Electronics Industry in Greece", performed with great success on Monday 30th of May. During the Workshop, scientists, engineers, industrial partners, final users, enterpreneurials, VCs and representatives from national authorities had the chance to network and discuss the latest advances on the field of Organic and Printed Electronics. During the same day, the Inauguration of the "Center of Organic and Printed Electronics in Greece" - COPE-H, performed in which eminent persons from Greek Authorities participated (Ms Maria Kollia Tsaroucha - Deputy Minister of the Interior for Makedonia and Thrace, Mr Vasileios Vairamidis - Brigader & Representative of the political and military leadership, Mr Theodanis Papas - Deputy Head of Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness and Enviroment and Mr Theodoros Papadopoulos - Mayor of Thermi city). During the Workshop, Mr Marcos Bolaris - Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Greece, was informed about all the actions of COPE-H and HOPE-A. Finally, the Signature of the Cooperation Agreement (MoU) between HOPE-A and the Japanese Organization JAPEC was announced.
